Illinois Montessori Children's House was established in August of 1980 by Darnell and Sam Piunti and has been operating at the present location ever since. Although the school was dedicated to Dr. Maria Montessori, IMCH is not your typical Montessori school. We call ourselves "Montessori Plus" because we add new components to our program every year.

The building that houses IMCH was constructed as a pre-school in 1966, and is located in a residential neighborhood away from any traffic, thus making it a facility designed to safely house children. This combined with the continuity of its management and caring staff provides a secure environment for children. Since starting our first year with 12 children and expanding our programs to meet the needs of parents and children, we have come a long way, building the perfect children’s house.
